un-Church - 1

Way of Christ Community exists
to practice learning and living
in the outrageous, radical
and out-of-the-ordinary loveall humans receive from Godd

I said that this blog was in some way about 'unchurch.' I want to make good on that comment and perspective. The community whose link is off to the right here is one in development. It's learning what the One whom it worships is inviting it to be and do. I am quoting my spouse to recount that: rather than growing an institution, rather than inviting people who are not part of our thing to come to our thing, rather than beginning with an 8:45, or 10am Sunday morning worship event that speaks one language, rather than these - Way of Christ Community exists to practice learning and living in the outrageous, radical and out-of-the-ordinary love all humans receive from God. Strangely enough, that means we may not ever be a "church" to some people. The idea (un-church-ness) is that somebody who sees this outrageous, radical, out-of-the-ordinary love might see it being lived out.

Outside (expectations for) a big organization and a big building might be a place for many more people to see that love. So... that's unchurch for now. The idea is that you can come to the worship events this community celebrates, but you don't need to see Godd's love.

Two Poems - Giants... and Bounce

...to name a company of friends
with the wisdom of a
mythical beast, half human...

The other day when I had seen the newest Harry Potter movie, I was thinking and wrote down some thoughts...

Giants, Ogres, or Faeries
It is not as though we have never seen
giants, ogres, or faeries in our days.
The trouble is we haven’t known
the names for the presence of the moon,
the city, the neighborhood or the stars.

We can’t begin to name a company of
friends with the wisdom of a mythical beast,
half human animal, half majestic presence.
My children, 3 and 5, call out excitedly,
“I see the moon! I see the moon!”

When might I ever call out, “I see…”
the idea, the wisdom of that choice,
the color of your eyes,
the nature of this development,
the hope of revivification in this or any life?

A couple days later I was jumping on a trampoline...

Bounce (Trampolina)

Bounce,
Bounce
Click
Went the key
To the iron gate
Of my heart
Joy
A sandy little
Sparrow flits loose
Free in overcast skies

Bounce,
Bounce

Magnificat meditation

Today I'm working on a meditation for the second installment of the series on the "Coming of the Divine." The focus is on the Magnificat.
...she spent the journey
to that outlying town, lying out words...
as a carpet, the first part
of the Way made straight...
The Rosary Poems are a good insight for this section.

I'm working on the contact Mary and Elizabeth have...

"Elizabeth exclaims about this, and something in the few words and way she speaks… must have connected with Mary, since this young girl breaks into “song.” Perhaps she was a poetess, perhaps she spent the journey to that outlying town lying out the words she was feeling, as a carpet, or perhaps the first part of the Way ‘made straight’ through the wilderness. "

Band names for the Day: El Dorados
Street names seem good food for band names -
they have lots of meaning - perhaps even beyond
the spelling and language that now uses them.

one, two, three, go

...I wish
I could go more often
than to work
So far I have...

I expect this is the place I wish I could go more often than to work. So far, I have thought of several reasons to come here myself; list all the band names I've come up with - feel free to add more, or use any of them - post some poetry, some photos, experiment with formats for web pages/blogs, and ... hopefully neither of us experience it as, well, blather.

Hope there is a reason for you to be here too.
